USAID Staffers Leaving Office

Workers at the US Agency for International Development have packed up their belongings and left the headquarters in Washington. This comes after they were dismissed or placed on leave as part of a cost-cutting measure carried out by the Trump administration.

Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur who heads the Department of Government Efficiency, has questioned the transparency of USAID’s operations and called for the agency to be shut down. The administration gave thousands of people who worked at the headquarters 15 minutes to visit their offices and clear out their desks on Thursday.
