US Defense Sec meets with NATO's Stoltenberg

U. S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin held talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to the Pentagon. In his opening remarks, Austin thanked the NATO chief for his "firm and principled leadership" of the alliance during this historic time.

President Joe Biden will attend the Madrid Summit and discuss a range of issues with his NATO counterparts beginning June 28. Stoltenberg's visit to the Pentagon came after a meeting with Biden where he sought to underscore the alliance's appreciation of Turkey as an "important ally."
