A U.S. aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, arrived in South Korea on Sunday, following North Korea's recent cruise missile test. Stationed at the port of Busan, the presence of the carrier underscores the strong alliance between the U.S. and South Korea.

Michael S. Wosje , Commander, Carrier Strike Group ONE said "Clearly our presence here in Busan shows the strong alliance between the Republic of Korea and the United States and our opportunity to train and operate together with our allies as we have done for the last 72 years and we will certainly look forward to continuing to do that."

The aircraft carrier is equipped to carry out a wide range of military operations, from humanitarian aid to combat, and will conduct joint training with South Korean and Japanese forces. The visit is part of routine operations aimed at reinforcing regional security and demonstrating the strength of the U.S.-South Korea partnership.
