University Training Corps : Basic military knowledge for university students

On September 29, the opening ceremony of the 2024–2025 University Training Corps (Monsoon Camp) was held at the No. (6) Combat Training School in Chaungzon Township of Mon State.

The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, regional ministers, military officials, and university rectors, along with 91 student trainees from various universities and colleges. The Chief Minister stated that the training aims to provide basic military knowledge to university students, promote patriotism, and prepare them to contribute to national defense in the future.

The training is part of a nationwide program conducted simultaneously at all University Training Corps across the country. The training course will last one month, and includes both theoretical and practical sessions. During the ceremony, officials also provided cash assistance and met with the student trainees.
