Union Day Celebration: Meeting with Ethnic Cultural Troupes

Chairman of Management Committee for Organizing 77th Anniversary Union Day Celebration, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Mayor U Than Tun Oo warmly met with the ethnic cultural dance troupes from various regions and states at Nay Pyi Taw Sports Training Camp of Zabuthiri Township on Sunday morning.

These dance troupes are set to actively participate in the festivities marking the remarkable accomplishments of 77th Anniversary Union Day with a diverse range of ethnic cultural dances.

During the meeting, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman said that the purpose of the Union Day celebration was to exchange the traditional cultural dances of various ethnic troupes. He emphasized the national objectives of the Union Day that all national brethren have to join hand in hand together in unity and to safeguard for perpetuation of the Union with Union spirit. He called for concerted efforts of the government, Tatmadaw and the people in the implementation processes to fully achieve nation’s stability and law enforcement.

The State Administration Council is making efforts for balanced development of all regions and states, regardless of the mountainous and plain areas.  Priority is being given on a special emphasis in shaping the ethnic rights and sustaining the language, literature, culture and customs in addition to cultural preservation and promotion, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Mayor U Than Tun Oo added.

And, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman and party frankly greeted the leaders and members of the ethnic cultural troupes and toured the dormitories, subcommittee offices, dispensary, library and Sarpay Beikman bookstore.

The 77th anniversary of Union Day Celebration aims at enabling mutual cultural exchange of ethnic groups from regions and states. It is learnt that 298 members of ethnic cultural troupes will perform in the Union Day ceremony with a range of activities.
