

A 14-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday after a shooting at Siam Paragon Mall in Bangkok that left two people dead and caused hundreds of shoppers to flee in panic onto the streets. National Police Chief Torsak Sukwimol told that two women were killed in the mall shooting, and five other people wounded. Police arrested a 14-year-old suspect, a student at a $4,000-a-term private school just metres from Siam Paragon.
Investigators say the boy was being treated for mental illness, has not been taking his medication and reported hearing voices telling him to shoot people. Prime Minister SretthaThavisin offered condolences to the victims' families and vowed "preventive measures."
