Turkmen President meets World Bank VP

Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with Antonella Bassani, Vice President of the World Bank for Europe and Central Asia, to discuss expanding ties between Turkmenistan and the World Bank.

Bassani highlighted the World Bank’s interest in strengthening relations, citing Turkmenistan’s efforts to improve its financial system and sustain economic growth. Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the visit would enhance bilateral economic cooperation and support Turkmenistan’s economic reforms.

The meeting focused on increasing collaboration with international financial institutions, particularly in the areas of digital economy, financial system modernization, private sector development, and environmental sustainability. The president also confirmed Turkmenistan’s openness to World Bank proposals for projects related to the development of regional transport corridors.
