Trump leaves China aboard Air Force One after Xi summit

US President Donald Trump left Beijing on Friday after a major summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Trump took off aboard Air Force One around 2:40 pm local time from Beijing Capital International Airport, bound for Washington. Chinese officials organized a formal farewell ceremony at the airport before departure.

Reports described the send-off as highly ceremonial, reflecting the importance both governments placed on the summit. Before leaving, Trump and Xi held their final engagement at Zhongnanhai, the Chinese leadership compound, where the two leaders walked through the gardens and spoke briefly with reporters.
