



Myanma Railways (MR) runs the rail services as usual according to the health rules of the Ministry of Health and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Myanma Railways extended the regular after the third wave of COVID-19 to facilitate the transport system and logistics sector.
It’s operating 50 trains — two express trains and two mail trains on Yangon-Mandalay railway, two express trains on Nay Pyi Taw-Yangon and Yangon-Mawlamyine routes, two mail trains on Yangon-Pyay and Thazi-Shwenyaung routes, two passenger and cargo trains on Yangon-Bago, Thazi-Myingyan, Bagan-Mandalay, Pyinmana-Taungdwingyi, Mawlamyine-Ye and Pathein-Kyangin routes, two RBE trains on Insein-Okkan and Pakokku-Kyunchaung routes and 22 RBEs for Yangon circular as of December 4.
Myanma Railways also operates mail train service for a round trip of Mandalay-PyinOoLwin-Gokteik route such as from Mandalay to PyinOoLwin every Monday, from PyinOoLwin to Gokteik, and from Gokteik to PyinOoLwin every Tuesday and from PyinOoLwin to Mandalay every Wednesday. Myanma Railways currently runs the passenger trains and cargo trains, and will extend the train routes depending on the increasing number of passengers and cargos.
