





Under the supervision of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, and organized by the Myanmar Hotels Association (Nay Pyi Taw Zone), the closing ceremony for the traditional martial arts and Myanmar Thaing training course was held at the Tonga Puri Hotel in Hotel Zone (1), Nay Pyi Taw on October 22.
The course was opened with the aim of further enhancing the capabilities of security staff serving at various hotels in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory. Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, attended and delivered a speech.
In his opening address at the ceremony, the Union Minister stated that offering the traditional Myanmar Thaing training course is not only for sports activity but also to identify and preserve traditional cultural heritage. By opening such courses, traditional cultures can be revived and passed on to future youth.
He urged that security staff from hotels should strive not only to be physically healthy and strong but also to become beneficial, disciplined individuals with good morals and ideas for their communities. Following this, the Union Minister presented awards to the outstanding trainees from the course.
Subsequently, the Union Minister and the Deputy Minister presented awards to the hotels that won prizes for their colorful light decorations during the Thadingyut Festival period. Afterwards, Union Minister watched demonstration performances of Thaing by the security staff who completed the training course, and took a group photo with the trainees and responsible officials from the hotels. It is reported that this traditional Myanmar Thaing training course was conducted over four weeks for security staff from hotels in the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, and will continue to be offered in the Bagan, Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin, and Inle Lake regions.
