Traditional medical sector: Coordination meeting of steering & work committees held

The patron of the steering committee for 21st Myanmar Traditional medical practioners conference and Myanmar traditional medical seminar, Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win delivered an address at the coordination meeting of the steering committee and working committee held at the Ministry of Health, Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on Wednesday.

At the meeting, the patron of steering committee SAC vice chairman deputy prime minister said that Myanmar Traditional medical practioners conference and Myanmar traditional medical seminar will be held on the December 8 and 9 prior to the 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee Independence Day.

Myanmar Traditional medical practioners conference is held with the aims of all-round progress of the Myanmar traditional medical field and improvement of quality of the traditional medicines, cooperation with the local and international relevant organizations for the development of production technologies of herbal medicines.

The Vice Senior General said the Government is paying special encouragement for development of Myanmar traditional medicines and the Myanmar Traditional Medicine Council is needed to supervise for abiding by the ethic of the traditional practitioners.

Since manufacturing of traditional medicines is part of MSME businesses, it help support the development of GDP of the country. He called for cooperative efforts off all concerned persons for successful holding of the 21st Myanmar Traditional Practitioners Conference and Seminar.

Chairman of the Leading Committee Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win reported on the preparation measures for the conference and seminar, followed by the reports of work undertakings by the concerned officials. The Vice Senior General made conclusion remarks, urging to make cooperation and coordination for the success of the event.
