






The Leading Committee for holding 23rd Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition held its 2nd work coordination meeting at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.
Patron of the Leading Committee, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior-General Soe Win delivered an address at the meeting, saying that in today's world, technologies and materials are rapidly developing and in these things, along with the concept of open freedom without boundaries, social networks and social media have become an important role.
Through the social networks, the extremist thinking and behaviors that are not related to pragmatic condition and social life of the country are penetrating into the younger generations.
The fine art is deep and profound and it has a great ability to stimulate and influence emotions. That’s why, officials are striving for holding again the cultural performing arts competition in line with the guidance of the Head of State.
The Vice Senior General added that the relevant Union Ministers, concerned officials, juries and representatives from Regions and States discussed the tasks for holding the competition and took some suggestions at the 1st coordination meeting held in August.
In this meeting, out of the decisions of the previous meeting, measures that have been done, progress of workings and the remaining tasks would be discussed and called on work committees and sub-committees to strive for holding the cultural performing arts competition at the national level in a grand manner and giving recommendations.
Later, Chairman of the Leading Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko reported on plans for holding the competition and awarding. Secretary of the Leading Committee Deputy Minister Dr Moe Zaw Tun reported on completion of the 1st meeting decisions.
Union Ministers and officials from the sub-committees reported on measures for the successful holding of the competition and sector-wise implementations.
In his concluding remark, the Vice Senior General called for uplifting national prestige and integrity, preserving the cultural heritage and national characteristics, having friendship and unity among the ethnic nationals and preserving traditional cultural performing arts in order to further revitalize and hand down it to new generation youths.
