Tradition & Culture Preservation: “Myanmar Ethical Culture and Fine Arts” program

“Myanmar Ethical Culture and Fine Arts” program will be conducted by National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) under jointly cooperation of the Ministry of Education, the Mandalay Region Government and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture in order to nature the younger generations to appreciate the traditional arts and culture and to become the good citizens.

Pro rector, National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay), Aye Sandar Aung said "We conduct this program aiming to share the fine arts such as music and theatrical ones at the basic education schools. As a result, students will grow their interest in the traditional arts gradually and participate in preservation of cultural heritages and national characters. We will only take 3 hours a week to share the knowledge to the students. We also have a plan to conduct new programs in future."

The heads of the music and theatrical departments of National University of Arts and Culture (Mandalay) will introduce knowledge to the students and do musical and theatrical activities together with the students. They will also demonstrate marionette dance, painting and drawing arts and let the students join some activities.

Headmaster, No. 1 Basic Education High School, Maung Maung Win said "We also teach our students good manners at the schools to behave well in their daily life. So, I believe that this program will help our students in learning moral principles as arts can sooth our mind. "

The opening ceremony of the program was held at City hall in Mandalay on Friday. The program will start on the 9th of August and the faculty members from National University of Arts and Culture will go to a basic education school per week to share knowledge. Currently, the program is designed for 6 schools in Mandalay.
