Trade Sector: Myanmar traded over 2.3 billion USD with Thailand

During 2023-2024 fiscal year, Myanmar traded over 2.3 billion USD with Thailand via 6 border trade posts of Myanmar-Thailand at the end of August.

At 2023-24 fiscal year, Myanmar traded more than 1.480 billion USD of trade value from the Hteekhee trade zone and more than 650 million USD from Myawaddy, followed by Tachilek with more than 70 million USD, Kawthaung border trade posts with more than 48 million USD, Myeik with more than 43 million USD, and Mawtaung with more than 5 million USD with Thailand.

Myanmar primarily exports corn, mung beans, black grams, sesame, peanuts, tamarind, dried ginger, onions and coffee beans while it imports such as cement, vehicle spare parts, railway accessories and agricultural equipments such as tractors and farm machineries.

Myanmar carries out cross-border trade with Thailand via Myawaddy, Tachilek, Kawthoung, Myeik, Hteekhee and Mawtaung borders. Among them, the Hteekhee border recorded the highest trade revenue with more than 1.480 billion USD in 2023-24 fiscal year.
