






Myanmar exported goods worth over 4,189 million USD and imported goods worth over 4,330 million USD, accounting for more than 8.5 billion USD in export and import sector during the 2022-2023 fiscal year from April to the 1st week of July.
Min Aung Aye, Director, Ministry of Commerce said "In export sector via sea routes, export of the agricultural products are worth of 692 million USD, the animal products over 1million USD, marine products over 94 million USD, mineral products more than 97 million USD, forestry products more than 35 million USD, industrial products more than 1,700 million USD and other goods more than 52 million USD have been made. The export of goods through borders amounted to more than1,450 million USD."
Myanmar mainly exports agricultural products, animal products, marine products, minerals, forest products, manufacturing goods and others while capital goods, intermediate goods and consumer goods are imported to the country.
Min Aung Aye, Director, Ministry of Commerce said "Imports of investment-related products worth more than 696 million USD, commercial raw material more than 1,600 million USD, consumer goods amounted to over 780million USD, and other CMP materials worth over 640 million USD have been made, so, in total, there’re imports worth over 3.8 billion USD by sea. Through the border gates, goods worth more than 528 million USD have been imported ."
About 80 percent of Myanmar's foreign trade is done through sea-borne trade and its border trade is being conducted with four neighboring countries; China, Thailand, India and Bangladesh, respectively.
