Tourism Vs Institutions: Efforts for Development of Tourism Industry

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Htay Aung attended a workshop on (Tourism vs Institutions” in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

The Union Minister discussed that tourism industry is changing fast and it is related with multi-sector, providing services to the community. It is important to exist the strong institutions that have been formed in line with the laws and regulations for development of tourism sector of the country.

Since the international airlines will resume on April 17th, the ministry is making preparations for re-operating of tourism industry. He reiterated that the private sector ins crucial for development of the sector, and called for cooperation of the tourism organizations. The concerned officials made general round of discussions on development of tourism associations at different levels and safety of tourists. 

Earlier in the day, the Union Minister met the delegation member of Eurasia Economic Commission, Deputy Director for International Relations Federal Air Transport Agency Mr. Sergey E. Vasiliev and discussed for operating air route for development of Russia-Myanmar tourism industry, cooperation for government-private tourism sector, signing MoU and reciprocal exchange of tourists and tour operators.

The Union Minister also met with Vice Chairman of Russian Association for Friendship and Cooperation with Myanmar Mr. Vitaly Maliev and party, and discussed for visiting of Russian tourists to Myanmar, operating air route between the two countries, safety measures, accommodation and human resource development.
