Tourism Sector: Union Minister Inspects Pilgrimage Sites

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Maung Maung Ohn, Mandalay Region Administration Council Chairman U Maung Ko and many other officials inspected pilgrimage sites.

The Union Minister and party inspected a site in Aung Myay Thazan Township where a jetty will be constructed for pilgrims from Mandalay MaYanChan Jetty to Mingun.

During his inspection trip, the Union Minister paid homage to the historic Mya Thein Tan Pagoda in Mingun area, offered flowers, water and oil lamps and donated cash. He also viewed Mingun Bell. The Union Minister also paid homage to Mingun Pahtodawgyi, offered flowers, water and oil lamps and donated cash. He continued his trip to stones in lion shape on the bank east of Mingun Pahtodawgyi.

The Union Minister also paid respects to Dr. Ashin Nyanissara, the founder of Sitagu Missionary Association and the Principal of Sitagu Projects. The Union Minister continued his trip to the historic Soon Oo Ponnya Shin Pagoda on Sagaing Hills, offered flowers, water and oil lamps and donated cash.

He also visited Ariya Wuntha Chaung Yoke Sone Monastery. Sagaing Region is the second largest constituent unit of Myanmar, attracting a large number of local and foreign visitors by its 6 tourism zones.
