Tourism Industry: Plans underway to attract more local, foreign visitors

Preparations are already underway for the tourism open season in November, to attract local and foreign visitors to the landmarks of Myanmar. Also, for the upcoming December and January, plans are being made to attract more visitors through tourist destinations.   

Naung Naung Han, Chairman, Myanmar Tourism Federation said "Some tour companies have already had customers for the tourism open season in November. There are also travelers visiting abroad with their own plans."

The Chairman added that the international flight tickets were mostly sold during the Tazaungdaing Festival, and during the Festival period, local visitors went to such beaches as Chaungtha and Ngwesaung and to famous pagodas.    

Naung Naung Han, Chairman, Myanmar Tourism Federation said "Regarding the foreign tour, now, there are difficulties to get passport, so, our federation is making coordination with related departments and federations for those applying through the tourism companies to get their passports. Regarding the domestic tour, we’re also cooperating with management-level officials."

It’s reported that arrangements are already in place for safety of local and foreign visitors. And, in October, the number of visitors to famous pagodas and beaches increased.
