Tourism Industry: Plans for tourism promotion discussed

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung on July 23rd visited PyinOoLwin of Mandalay Region, and discussed the plans to open Russian Speaking Class with the officials from the Defence Services Academy and PyinOoLwin Hotel Zone at ShweSanEain Hotel.

The Union Minister discussed that the training will be conducted to the officials and staff from the ministry and hotels and tourism industry who provide services to the tourists. He also discussed to revise the Russian version tourism website of the ministry.

The Union Minister and party later met with the officials from the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism and hoteliers, and discussed that visa exemption for tourists from Russia was announced during the visit of the head of state to Russia.

He urged all to make preparation measures for providing better services once the Russian tourists came to visit the country.

He added that Russian Speaking Class will be opened in Yangon in cooperation with the Ministry of Education. He called for cooperation of the government, private and local community for successful opening of Russian Speaking Class in PyinOoLwin.

The Union Minister later met with the Chairman of PyinOoLwin Administration Council and departmental personnel and hoteliers at NanHtikeThu Hotel, and discussed to make preparations for providing services to Russian tourists in the coming open season.

He urged the staff from the industry to learn Russian language since the tourism industry targets to Russian market. He also instructed to make cooperative efforts for implementing the leisure train ride with the use of steam-engine locomotive.

On the 24th, the Union Minister arrived at Pullman Hotel in Mandalay and discussed to open Russian Speaking Class with the faculty members from Mandalay University of Foreign Language.

The Union Minister also met with the regional government officials and hoteliers and discussed that there are arrivals of international tourists via the commercial flights, and it is important to provide better services including health and safety.

He also urged the hoteliers to cooperate in implementing the Guest List Management System so as to contribute for the tourism promotion in the future.
