Currently, at the Ngapali Beach in Rakhine State, more than 60 hotels and guest houses have been opened.

According to an official from the Rakhine State Directorate of Hotels and Tourism, 48.88% of guest rooms were rented during the weekend, and 1,188 guests visited  Ngapali, including 65 foreign visitors and 1,053 domestic visitors.

Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Rakhine State), Tin Tun Aung, said " Due to the descending rate of local COVID-19 transmission below 5%, the early cold season festival was held last year in November at the Ngapali Beach. Since then, visitor arrivals have increased again, and the number of visitors during 9 holidays of Thingyan period is more than the number during the entire month of March. Guests visited at a high speed even during in Diwali and Thadingyut period."

It is estimated that there will be more visitors at Ngapali beach in the coming Tazaungdaing and Thingyan period.

Plans are underway to re-open the Ngapali beach in this open season and hotels and guest houses have been allowed to open in line with the COVID-19 rules and regulations. Special care has been taken to ensure the good health of both guests and hotel service providers.

Director, Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Rakhine State), Tin Tun Aung, said "In terms of security, not only the hotel staff but also the relevant authorities are working hard to supervise for the safety of visitors. In Thandwe, there are 33 hotels and 32 guest houses."

Arrangements are being made to develop the Marn Aung Island as a new tourist attraction place to visit. During the last Thadingyut period, Ngapali beach was teeming with more than 1,000 domestic and foreign visitors.
