Tourism Industry: Magway Region Committee holds meeting 6/2022

The Magway Region Tourism Committee held its meeting 6/2022 on Tuesday at the regional government office.

In his address, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin highlighted implementation of the decisions made in the National Tourism Development Central Committee 1/2022 including works and programmes carried out for the independence, convenience and safety of all people with disabilities in the tourism destinations.

45 out of 56 licensed hotels, motels and guests are now using the Guest List Management System. He also stressed tourism attraction programmes in Magway, Minbu, Minhla, Thayet, Aunglan, Taungdwingyi and Magway areas as well as in Shwesettaw area.

Also, the Chief Minister highlighted the COVID-19 vaccination programme in the tourism industry and capacity building workshops before urging attendees to accelerate implementation of community-based tourism.

This meeting continued with discussions and suggestions on implementation of the decisions, progress, the increased number of travelers to the Region during holidays and field trip for implementation of community-based tourism.
