Tourism Industry Development: Meeting on resuming international tourism

Union Minister for Tourism Dr Htay Aung attended a coordination meeting on resuming of international tourism at the Ministry via video conferencing on Monday.

At the meeting, the Union Minister discussed that International flights will be allowed to resume normal operation in accordance with the rules and regulations and COVID-19 entry requirements starting from 17th April 2022.

The Ministry will make arrangements to disseminate the information to be followed by the relevant associations and operators in time for the tourists.

Quarantine hotels and guest houses need to get in advance the national level HSP-Certificate, which is arranged by the Ministry, in order to have health insurance when the visitors come to stay.

He added that the Ministry is also drafting tourism plans for the convenience of tourists and preparing for mobile application. Hotel and Tourism associations also need to promote advertisements for tourists to visit tourist destinations.

The Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation reported plan to make preparations by hotels and tour companies for the reopening of international flights and provide the information for tourists.

Later, the attendees asked about further information on which the Union Minister coordinated essentials.
