Tourism Industry: Competition to be held for gastronomy tourism

Hotels and restaurants are encouraged to feature traditional Myanmar foods, including regional specialties, and promoting these traditional dishes will help develop gastronomy tourism. To support this, a competition showcasing Myanmar dishes will soon be held, with appropriate prizes awarded to participants.

Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint said during his meeting with the Myanmar Tourism Federation and hotel and tourism associations in Yangon. He added that if Myanmar cuisine can be presented dish by dish, it will provide tourists with a new and memorable experience.

The Union Minister also encouraged hotels to maintain cleanliness, train skilled staff, display Myanmar handicrafts, and provide high-quality guest experiences. Officials from the Yangon regional government, tourism organizations, and hotel representatives shared updates on tourism development projects and challenges.
