Tour in Yangon : Livestock activities and river maintenance

President U Min Aung Hlaing inspected livestock activities in Twante Township, Yangon, on Saturday. At the Twante Township Livestock Zone Briefing Hall, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu reported on livestock development plans, including livestock farming, production and sale of meat, fish and eggs and the provision of water, sufficient electricity, manufacturing roads and other infrastructure.

He also reported on plans for feed mills and implementation of the President’s previous instructions. In response to the reports, the President said the livestock zones aim to ensure adequate supplies of meat, fish and eggs at affordable prices for Yangon’s population of about 8 million.

He stressed the need for accurate land-use data, systematic planning, sufficient livestock feed and clean water, good breeds, proper space and health management to increase livestock production. He instructed the Region Government to systematically develop the Twante livestock zones and ensure affordable supplies of meat, fish and eggs for local people.

He later inspected livestock activities in the zones and gave necessary instructions. The President and party then travelled along the Yangon-Twante Highway and visited the Myanmar-Korea Friendship (Dala) Bridge. He also gave instructions on river maintenance and urban development projects along the Yangon River.
