Tour in Russia: Study tour to Hydropower Plant and Wind Farm

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han visited Barsuchkovskaya small Hydropower Plant in Stavropol Region of Russia on 19th November.

Officials explained the operation process of the power plant, which is constructed on the Great Stavropol Canal. The construction of power plant was completed in December 2020 by Rosatom Company, and it has 5.25 megawatts installed capacity.

The delegation later visited Kochubeevskaya Wind-driven Power Plant, and observed the operation process. Situated in Stavropol Region, the wind farm started its operation in January 2021.

It equipped with 85 wind turbines with 2.5 megawatts capacity in each turbine, altogether 210 megawatts. Some 600-million-unit electricity have been generating by the facility and distributing to the power grid via 330 KV powerline. The wind farm is constructed on 160 acres wide land plot with the total investments of about 28 billion Ruble.
