Thanlwin Bridge (Tasang): Acting President attended inauguration of the bridge

The opening ceremony of the Thanlwin Bridge (Tasang) was held on the morning of January 20 near Tasang Village in Mong Pan Township, Shan State (Southern).

Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended and presided over the inauguration. Upon the arrival of the Acting President and officials at the venue, they were warmly welcomed by officials, students, drum and bugle corps, and local ethnic residents.

During the auspicious opening moment, the Thanlwin Bridge (Tasang) was officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the SSPC Commission Secretary Ye Win Oo, and Union Ministers Dr. Charlie Than, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, and U Myo Thant, along with Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung.

Subsequently, the Acting President pressed a button to unveil the commemorative plaque of the bridge and sprinkled it with scented water. The Commission Secretary and other attendees also sprinkled scented water on the plaque.

The Union Minister for Construction then presented a commemorative gift marking the bridge's opening to the Acting President. In return, the Acting President presented honorary cash awards to the students and local residents in attendance. Following the ceremony, the Acting President and officials took a documentary group photo to commemorate the event and walked across the Thanlwin Bridge (Tasang) to inspect the structure, it’s reported.
