Thanh Hoa province relocates people in flooded area

The heavy rain and floodwaters have disrupted traffic and caused severe flooding and landslides in mountainous districts of Vietnam. Hòa Qúy commune in Như Xuân district, is experiencing severe flooding as a result of heavy rains. Local authorities are taking proactive measures to relocate and evacuate people living in areas at high risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides.

The low-lying geography of the area has caused floodwaters to rise up to a meter. Currently, there are approximately 50 households in flood-prone areas within this commune, with 10 households facing severe flooding and requiring relocation to safer areas. Local authorities are currently closely monitoring the development of rainfall in order to respond proactively and minimize potential damage.
