Thailand, Australia boost ties during PM Anutin’s Canberra visit

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese met in Canberra on Wednesday, marking the first official visit by a Thai prime minister to Australia in 14 years. Both sides issued a joint statement on transnational crime, committing law enforcement agencies to target human trafficking and Thailand-based online scam networks.

The two leaders also expanded economic engagement under the Thailand-Australia Free Trade Agreement with added focus on agriculture, clean energy, and critical technology.
