The citywide nucleic acid testing result made public on Tuesday shows the spread of the novel coronavirus has been almost halted in Wuhan, an expert of the liaison group of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism of the State Council said.
In an interview with China Central Television, the deputy director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said the testing result is relatively in line with their anticipation.
From May 14 to June 1, a total of 9.8 million people in Wuhan City received nucleic acid tests for novel coronavirus, and 300 asymptomatic infected cases were detected, which means there were only 0.3 infected case in every 10,000 test takers on the average.
Of the 1,174 people who were close contacts with infected cases, no confirmed cases were found.
