Tesla vehicle explodes outside Trump hotel in Las Vegas

One person died and seven others were injured when a vehicle exploded and caught fire Wednesday morning outside one of President-elect Donald Trump's hotels in Las Vegas in the western US state of Nevada.

The explosion happened outside the Trump International Hotel on Wednesday. One person died inside the vehicle. Police say the Tesla Cyber truck pulled up to the front of the hotel before smoke started spewing from it and then a large explosion occurred.

Musk took to X on Wednesday afternoon. He said that "we have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks and/or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented Cybertruck and is unrelated to the vehicle itself."

Police told reporters at a news conference that there are many questions about the incident that need to be answered.
