Takaichi, Bessent meet ahead of Trump’s visit to China

Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met in Tokyo on Tuesday. They discussed a wide range of issues, including Trump’s visit to China, Japan-US relations, critical minerals and Japanese investment in the US based on a bilateral agreement.

Takaichi touched on efforts needed to strengthen the supply chain between Japan and the US, as well as minimizing the risks of a high-performance AI model. The two also discussed the situation in the Indo-Pacific region.
