Syrian President arrives in Beijing for high-level talks

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad arrived in Beijing on Sunday for high-level talks following his three-day visit to the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping and attended the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games.

In the coming days, Assad is expected to meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee. This visit marks Assad's first official visit to China in almost two decades. China sees this visit as an opportunity to strengthen mutual trust and cooperation in various fields.
