Support for Sports : Union Minister inspects sports facilities in Yangon

On Friday, Chairman of the Myanmar Olympic Committee and Union Minister for Sports Affairs ,U Ye Myint Tun accoompanied by officials, oversaw the selected atheletes undergoing training for international sports events.

During a visit at Myanmar Equestrian Federation, the Union Minister and party inspected equestrian training equipment and facilities. Officials presented its current activities and preparations for competition in Nay Pyi Taw from September 5 to 6.

Preparations and requirements for the 34th Southeast Asian Games were also discussed. The Union Minister stressed cooperation between the Ministry and sports federation to improve Myanmar’s sports sector.

During a visit at Myanmar Volleyball Federation, the Union Minister met with athletes training for the upcoming 34th SEA Games, emphasizing their health, proper nutrition, disciplined lifestyles, and effective training. Coaches were also urged to keep up with updated rules and regulations and provide both theoretical and practical training.

The Union Minister later proceeded to Myanmar Paralympic Sports Federation to discuss the preparations for the 5th Asian Para Games, to be held in Nagoya, Japan from September 19 to October 4. Topics included accommodation, transportation, and other requirements.

He encouraged athletes to win more gold medals and improve Myanmar’s overall ranking. The Union Minister then proceeded to Myanmar Shooting Sport Federation where he observed selected athletes undergoing training. The Union Minister made inspection of international-level swimming pool, and instructed for conducting swimming courses in order to nurture the new generation swimmers.
