Support for Sports: Sports facilities in Myitkyina inspected

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung made inspection in Myitkyina of Kachin State on Wednesday.

First, the Union Minister oversaw the preparation to grow new grass in the compound of People’s Sport Ground, inspected swimming pool, Futsal Court, Badmintan and Volleyball stadiums and Myitkhina district sports ground.

There, the Union Minister viewed the practicing of U-25 Women’s football team and made encouragement. He also attended the aid distribution event for displaced persons who are taking shelter at Naung Yar ward and Antaw Shin monastery. 

As the government is making efforts for security of the public as well as mental and physical strength of the people, the Union Minister urged the attendees to nurture their children to become good citizens for the country. For the development of sports sector of the state, efforts are underway to upgrade sports grounds and stadiums and all are urged for preservation of the sports grounds and to nurture new generation athletes for the country.
