Sunak, Truss face runoff to become next UK leader

Britain’s Conservative Party chose former Treasury chief Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary Liz Truss as the two finalists in an election to replace Boris Johnson as party leader and prime minister.
The pair came first and second in a vote of Conservative lawmakers on Wednesday.Sunak was the favourite with Tory MPs, winning 137 votes in the final round to Truss's 113. The two finalists will go to a runoff vote by all 180,000 members of the Conservative Party, with a winner expected to be announced September 5.
