Under the guidance of the Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission and the Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Services, a group of outstanding young students, the children of active or retired military personnel and substitute civilian staff, who achieved excellent results in the 2024–2025 academic year matriculation examinations, as well as distinguished soldiers, will embark on a study tour to the People’s Republic of China. The purpose of this tour is to enable these exceptional youths to explore and learn from international cultures, general knowledge, and academic advancements.

The study tour group departed in the evening on October 13, from Yangon International Airport by air. They were warmly seen off at the airport by the Commander of Yangon Command Major General Pyae Sone Lin, senior military officers, head of department U Aung Ye Win and representatives from Myanmar Economic Holdings Limited and relevant companies, as well as the students' parents and relatives.

This study delegation, led by Colonel Myo Myint Aung from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), comprises a total of 34 participants including 11 students (children of active/retired military personnel) who passed the matriculation exam with outstanding results and were selected as nationally outstanding youths, 16 students who achieved the highest scores, 1 Tatmadaw member who passed with distinction in one subject, 2 school administrators, and 4 administrative team members. During the tour, which will continue until October 18, the group will visit notable places in the People's Republic of China, including Tian Tan Park, Tiananmen Square, the Great Wall, and other significant sites.

Since the 2011–2012 academic year, the Tatmadaw has awarded honors and scholarships to students who are children of active or retired military personnel or substitute civilian staff, in recognition of their outstanding performance in the matriculation exams. From 2013 onward, those who received such honors and demonstrated exceptional achievements were selected for international study tours. These overseas tours were temporarily halted during the global COVID-19 pandemic but resumed again starting from the 2023–2024 academic year.
