Stars including Joaquin Phoenix arrive for Venice award ceremony

Stars from this year's Venice Film Festival walked the red carpet on Saturday ahead of the festivals closing ceremony. Acting prizes went to Ariane Ascaride, who won best actress for her role in ''Gloria Mundi'' and Luca Marinelli scooped best actor for "Martin Eden". The young actor award went to Toby Wallace for his work as troubled youngster Moses in ''Babyteeth.''

Roman Polanski's military drama "An Officer and a Spy" took the runner-up Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize. Roy Andersson won best director for ''About Endlessness''. The Special Jury Prize went to "The Mafia Is No Longer What It Used to Be," by Italian filmmaker Franco Maresco.
