



Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Dr. Soe Win, attended and delivered the opening remarks at the opening ceremony of the Staff Capacity Building Training Course for the Department of Disaster Management on January 19.
In his speech, the Union Minister stated that the capacity of staff is essential for providing high-quality services to the public, which is why these capacity-building trainings are being conducted. He emphasized that "capacity" involves the continuous study and application of various sectors, including operational matters, management, finance, laws, bylaws, and procedural directives. He further noted that experts from the Union Civil Service Board and the Office of the Auditor General of the Union, along with officials from the department, will lead the discussions and lectures in this course. He urged the trainees to study diligently, ask questions based on their field experience, and engage in the exchange of knowledge with one another to ensure a productive training session.
The capacity building training will be held from January 19 to January 21. A total of 50 Assistant Directors in charge of District and Township offices of the Department of Disaster Management are attending the course.
