Sri Lanka pledges continued ozone protection on World Ozone Day

Sri Lanka reaffirmed its commitment to environmental preservation and ozone protection on World Ozone Day, highlighting national initiatives aligned with international treaties. Established under the Ministry of Environment, national ozone body drives local compliance, public awareness, and the implementation of phase-out schedules for harmful substances.

The country successfully eliminated chlorofluorocarbons ahead of schedule and continues steady progress toward phasing out hydrochlorofluorocarbons.
