









Myanmar Olympic Committee Chairman, Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung visited Bangkok, Thailand, from June 10th to 13th, to attend the 2nd Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) Council Meeting.
On June 11th, the delegation toured key venues for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games, such as Rajamangala National Stadium, Huamark Indoor Stadium, Thai Cycling Hall of Fame, and archery fields.
On the 12th, the Union Minister met with Thailand’s Sports Minister and SEA Games Organizing Committee Chair Mr. Sorawong Thienthong and discussed Myanmar’s training challenges due to recent earthquakes and requested greater access to facilities during the Games.
At the official meeting, updates on preparations for the 33rd SEA Games were presented, including 50 sports events and venue details. The meeting also made decisions on approving previous meeting records, renaming the SEAGF COO position to CEO, granting honorary SEAGF memberships to three individuals, confirming that the name “Southeast Asian Games” will continue to be used and reviewing progress for the 34th SEA Games in Malaysia in 2027.
The Myanmar delegation returned to Yangon on the evening of June 13, where they were welcomed by the Deputy Minister and officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.
