Sports Sector : MOSA Union Minister inspects sports facilities in Myeik

Union Minister for Sports Affairs U Ye Myint Tun inspected sports facilities in Myeik District of Tanintharyi Region on Saturday, to promote the development of sports in the region.

The Union Minister enjoyed the traditional Chinlone competition  at Myeik Township Stadium. He also observed the training session of boxing teams and provided financial support to the athletes. At Myeik District’s Myoma Sports Ground, officials briefed the minister on the completed construction and upgrading of the football field and spectator stands.

The new sports ground is being developed on a 10.068-acre site and will include a football field and a 4,000-seat spectator stand. The Union Minister inspected the completed works, and instructed officials to ensure proper maintenance, adequate water and electricity supplies, and cleanliness of the sports ground. He later met tennis and badminton players and encouraged them to improve their performance.
