Sports Sector: Deputy Minister Makes Inspections in Southern Shan State

Deputy Minister for Sports U Nyi Nyi inspected sports grounds and gymnasiums in Aungban and Kalaw townships of Southern Shan State.

During his inspection of the Aungban Gymnasium, the Deputy Minister addressed the staff shortage by instructing officials to recruit local residents for open positions. For the sports ground, he directed them to elevate the ground surface before planting grass, construct an entrance drainage system, and level the running track to clearly define it, noting that budget proposals for these tasks should be included in the upcoming fiscal year.

He also instructed officials to coordinate with relevant responsible personnel to acquire floor mats for boxing and provided assistance to fulfill other necessary requirements. Afterwards, the Deputy Minister inspected the stadium and gymnasiums in Kalaw Township.

He instructed them to systematically plant quality-standard grass at the sports ground and properly renovate the running track. Regarding badminton training, he emphasized developing and systematically implementing short- and long-term plans to continuously nurture new generation athletes. Finally, he urged all stakeholders to collaborate on maintaining the facilities to ensure long-term sustainability and keep the sports ground in top condition, while coordinating solutions to meet lingering needs.
