Sports and Youth Affairs: Union Minister Stresses Cooperation With Russia

Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs held a meeting with the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation.

At the meeting in Nay Pyi Taw, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan stressed further cooperation on sports sector development, sports-related scholarship, master degree and training programmes in Russia and joint training in Russia or Myanmar.

Project Manager from the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendship and Cooperation Mr. Denis DEGTEREV confirmed training programmes for coaches and sportsmen from Myanmar in Moscow, introduction of Myanma traditional Lethwei to Russia, plan to organize a Russia-Myanmar sports organization and cooperation on the Myanmar’s sports sector development.

In his response, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan expressed his hope that cooperation with Russia will produce more outstanding sportsmen in Myanmar. He added that Myanmar welcomes Russian teams to train in Myanmar during bad weather condition in Russia.
