Sport Sector: 2022 State/Region Under-19 Men’s Football Tournament

The opening ceremony of the 2022 State/Region Under-19 Men’s Football Tournament, jointly organized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myanmar Football Federation, was held at the Wunna Theikdi Football Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.
This opening ceremony was attended by members of the State Administration Council [SAC] U Khin Maung Swe, Daw Aye Nuu Sein, Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Moung Har, U Sai Lone Hsai, Saw Daniel, Dr. Banyar Aung Moe and U Shwe Kyein as well as union ministers and many other officials.
In his opening speech, Union Minister U Min Thein Zan said that the tournament is held to improve the standard of Myanmar football, to continuously turn the new generation footballers, to promote unity among footballers from various states and regions and to promote the spirit of union. He also called on footballers to compete in a clean and full spirit of sportsmanship and on referees to be free from bias and make fair and correct decisions in accordance with the rules.
After his speech, the Union Minister opened the 2022 State/Region Under-19 Men’s Football Tournament. Following the opening ceremony, the SAC members, union ministers and officials watched the match of Nay Pyi Taw Team Vs Kachin State Team.
The 2022 State/Region Under-19 Men’s Football Tournament participated by 14 teams is set to be held till August 3 at the training pitch No. 1 and No. 3 of the Wunna Theikdi Football Stadium.
