The highest bridge in the world in Southwest China has connected two mountainous provinces which used to be difficult to access. The bridge was opened on December 29, 2016 and its construction involved many technological breakthroughs. For this reason, it won the Gustav Lindenthal Medal, dubbed the "Nobel Prize for bridges", at the 35th International Bridge Conference in May 2018.

Four months later, it was certified by the Guinness World Records. The bridge deck sits 565 meters above the River. The bridge was the first to use the 500Mpa high-strength steel bars in its design. The bridge costs 1.03 billion yuan to build.
