South Korean president meets CEO of Google DeepMind

Google DeepMind head Demis Hassabis met with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the Blue House in Seoul on Monday.

They have agreed to build an artificial-intelligence campus in Seoul to develop cooperation between the tech firm and local engineers and startups, Kim Yong-beom, a presidential policy adviser, said. Hassabis is known for developing AlphaGo, the first AI program which defeated top-ranked professional Go player Lee Se-dol in 2016.
