South Korea unification minister meets Japan FM

Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi met with South Korean Unification Minister Kwon Young-se in Tokyo on Thursday where they celebrated the countries' improved relationship. This meeting comes after South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol’s visit to Tokyo last week, where both countries stressed the importance of boosting ties.

Hayashi praised President Yoon’s visit as a success and expressed deep respect in his leadership to improve Japan-South Korea relations. Kwon said he was very pleased that the recent South Korea-Japan summit has brought back the relationship between the two countries, which had not been in a good place for a while.
