South Korea kicks off early voting for local elections

South Korea on Friday kicked off early voting for local elections and parliamentary by-elections to elect mayors, governors and local council members as well as 14 lawmakers.

The advance voting will last from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on Friday and Saturday at 3,571 polling stations across the country, according to the National Election Commission.The election day is scheduled for June 3, with over 44.6 million eligible voters expected to cast their ballots.
