Solitude Meditation Retreat: Buddhist devotees pay homage to Mong Pong Sayadaw

Venerable Mong Phone Sayadaw Nyana Sanvara has pledged a solitude meditation retreat for 3 years, 3 months and 3 days from 18th April 2019 to 1st August 2022.

After successful long retreat, Venerable Mong Phone Sayadaw re-emerged from Upper Cave of Mong Kyat near Mongsat Township of eastern Shan State on 1st August.On the occasion, Shan State Chief Minster Dr Kyaw Tun, the Commander of the Triangle Region Command, officials along with the Buddhist devotees and pilgrims from all parts of the country paid homage to the Venerable Sayadaw.

The Buddhist devotees carried the Sayadaw by special decorated Mingala conveyer to the Nat Sin creek where he shaved his hair.It was followed by the recitation of religious sermons by the Venerable at the monastery near Nat Sin Creek where the Chief Minister, the Commander and congregation observed the sermons and donated waso robes and offertories to the Venerable Sayadaw.

During the solitude meditation retreat, Venerable Mong Phone Sayadaw also wrote religious Dhamma letters of sharing love and kindness among the people in Shan language. His devotees translated and distributed the letters in Myanmar and Shan language monthly.
