Smart Village Project: Plans to carry out at 3 villages in Nay Pyi Taw Council

The Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development is implementing Smart Village Project for promoting the socio-economic life of rural people. According to the project three villages from Nay Pyi Taw Council area will be carried out as the Smart Villages.

These villages included ThawHmawKone Village in Laewe Township, KyunOo Village in Pyinmana Township and GwayPin Village in Tatkone Township.  Union Minister U Hla Moe on 7th January inspected the work undertakings for establishment of smart villages.

As part of of the project, the mechanized farming and contract farming systems will be implemented in GwayPin Village. The Mechanized Farming Department under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation will carry out the tasks as a focal department, in cooperation with the departments under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.

It is learnt that a cooperative group will be formed with the comprise of 61 farmers and will implement the farming works on 114 acres farmlands.
